yoga At home and abroad: India, Italy, lasqueti island

I had the privilege and pleasure to interview BTK Iyengar.
You can read it here.

My yoga practice goes with me – as part of my day-to-day life.
Usually, I practice at home. Indoors. On a mat.
But I’ve also practiced in a cabin on Lasqueti Island; a student residence in Toronto; a rented apartment and the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India; a friend’s home in Kerala, India; in the homes of friends and family in California, Montreal and Toronto; during writing retreats on Vancouver Island and at a Benedictine monastery in Saskatchewan; in a hotel in Cairo, Egypt – and even in airports.
And then, of course, there are my regular yoga classes. In Vancouver, I’ve been practicing (until the pandemic) at The Yoga Space.
In June 2016 and again in June 2019, I spent a week and a half at a retreat centre in Tuscany studying yoga – 6 hours a day – with Louie Ettling. Centro Montauto

In June 2016, I spent 9 days at a retreat centre in Tuscany studying yoga – 6 hours a day – with Louie Ettling. I’m planning to return in June, 2019. Centro Montauto
While in Tuscany, I was invited to do a reading and presentation at a former monastery that the University of Siena uses as a conference centre. Jazz pianist Ron Davis improvised around the readings.
